Thanks to all that attended Saturday's Room Forty/Barrel 27 winemaker dinner. By all accounts it was a great success and leaves us eagerly awaiting the next. We have another dinner planned for April (still ironing out the details for that one), Justin Vineyards confirmed for June, and more impressive collaborations in the works for later in the year. I met a friend at the dinner and you are right: it was a wonderful time in all respects except one. Our Chris M. was there, but snuck out the back gate before I had a chance to say hello! Will have to catch up with CM this weekend. As for the wine, indeed, there were two exceptional bottles in the lot to go with the delectable feast. T and I each bought three bottles of each. Ergo, we each bought half a case of the reds! Can't remember exactly what they were called off the top, think one is "High on the Hog" (and that figures, because, as you know, that's how I live much of the time), but will remember when I pick up the order tonight! Hey, I may just open a bottle to share.
Speaking again of the Room Forty wine dinner of a couple weeks past, I just enjoyed a delicious bowl of Whole Foods Kitchen's gourmet turkey chili (very beef-like and, God bless 'em, they held the bell peppers for a change!) with a nice glass of Bull By The Horns ... great combo! Go get some of each.
